How to Book Movie Tickets Online

by Kathryn Hatter ; Updated September 22, 2017

Going to the movies is a popular night out for many people. Attending a movie can be a streamlined experience if the tickets are purchased online before getting to the theater. When you browse the current movie titles from the comfort of your home, you can take your time deciding on what you want to see, what time you want to go and the date. This is not only a convenience, but it is surprisingly affordable.

Visit Movietickets.com. Browse the site to find the movie or movies you are interested in purchasing tickets for. On the left side of the page is a top 10 list of the most popular current movies. Also along the left side is a list of upcoming movie releases.

Enter your city and state in the "Enter Your Location" field at the top of the page. Choose your movie by moving your mouse over the "Choose Your Movie" field. Click on the movie of your choice.

View the movie theaters that are available for online ticketing. Select the date and the time you want to purchase tickets for.

Confirm your ticket selection on the next page by making sure the movie, theater, and date and time are accurate.

Select the ticket type (adult or child) and the number of each. Enter a promotional code into the appropriate field if you have one. Check the box to print your tickets if you have a printer. Click "Continue."

Click the "Create Account" button on the next page. Enter the appropriate information into the fields on the next page.

Enter your credit card information and billing information on the next page. It will be necessary to present the exact credit card used for payment at the movie theater. If you are not able to do this, you should print your tickets from the website. Click "Continue."

Confirm your transaction on the next page. Read the ticket pick-up instructions carefully. It tells you where to pick up your tickets, remind you to bring the credit card you used on the website and to arrive 30 minutes before the movie is scheduled to begin. If everything is accurate, click "Purchase Tickets." Your credit card will be charged. Your purchase is final and there are no refunds.
