Personal computer with USB drive
The 1 GB Slick MP3 player is an inexpensive and conveniently sized alternative to the more expensive MP3 players on the market. It can be difficult to navigate, however, and instructions on adding music files to it are often anything but straightforward.
Connect the Slick player to your computer using the USB cable supplied.
Wait for the system to recognize the MP3 player.
Choose the option to view the files inside the device. To do this, you may have to right-click on the icon for the device and select the "Open" option.
Look in the dialog box that shows the files in the MP3 player. You may notice a folder labeled "MICIN.DIR." You'll need to create a folder similar to this.
Right-click on an open space in the dialog box and run your mouse over the option reading "New." Some more options pop out from this, and at the top should be a "Folder" option. Click it.
Right-click the folder beside the MICIN.DIR folder labeled "New Folder." Choose the "Rename" option. Name the folder "MP3."
Open the folders containing the music files you want to put on the device and drag them into the MP3 folder. You have officially added songs to your Slick MP3 player.
When dealing with MP3 players such as the Slick, keep in mind that unlike more high-end MP3 players, the performance isn't nearly as optimum. The player may be slow to respond at times.
