Shock the guests at your next party and make a dinner menu. Include all the food options available at the party and decorate and design however you would like. Homemade menus can be completely personalized to include special names for food items or incorporate the ingredients in each menu option. The steps below will take you through an easy way to make an impressive dinner menu using any word processing software you have available.

Open a new document in any word processing program such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft Works.

Set the document size to 8.5 inches by 11 inches or letter sized.

Type the name of the dinner menu at the top in large, bold letters. If the menu doesn’t have a name, just type Dinner Menu or Menu for [DATE].

Enter the full menu below the name in a small, regular font. Start with soup or salad, then appetizers, the entrée choices and finally the dessert options.

Add a decorative border to the dinner menu. Go to Format > Borders and Shading. Apply to the page and select a border art from the options available.

Print onto card stock or heavy weight paper.
