Are you a creative thinker who has some excellent ideas for video games? If you want to get those ideas out to a major video-game company like Nintendo, you need to know where and how to begin the process and see it through. Also, keep in mind that Nintendo of America, Inc. hires people for positions that demand creative input for upcoming video games.

Follow the link in Resources to view Nintendo's policy for submitting ideas to their company. Click on the "Corporate" option at the bottom of the main page. From the categories, select "Company FAQs." In the "FAQs" page, select the question, "How do I submit my game idea?" Here, you will see that, unfortunately, Nintendo does not "accept unsolicited game or product ideas." Due to the large amounts of emails and unsolicited suggestions they receive, Nintendo is unable to accept your ideas. Knowing this, it's probably best to not waste your time contacting a representative of the company.

Still, don't fret! Even though Nintendo has a strict policy on submitting ideas to their company, if you are driven enough to get your ideas out there, your best chance is to work toward a professional career as a video-game developer, or to find a relevant job at Nintendo of America, Inc.

Reread Nintendo's idea-submitting policy. Notice that they suggest a program called "DigiPen." The DigiPen Institute of Technology holds an excellent educational program for video-game enthusiasts who would like to learn how to become expert game developers. (See Resources.) This a great way to get your foot in the door of the video-game industry. The reality of it all is that, for a company like Nintendo to take your ideas seriously, you will need the necessary education and experience.

Know that, if you are already a video-game developer, you have a greater chance at submitting your ideas and products to Nintendo of America, Inc. In the policy, Nintendo states that, if you are a representative "of an established video game developer," you can find out about licensing your products to Nintendo by emailing the company for assistance in the process. Do this by clicking on the "Click here" link at the end of the policy.

To find a job at Nintendo, make sure you are at the main page of the website. Click on the "Corporate" option at the bottom of the page. Click on the "Jobs" option at the top of the "Corporate" page. You will be directed to the "Career Opportunities" page, where you can search through posted jobs for the Nintendo corporation. It will also be helpful to create an account in the career section; in the future, when a job that meets your skills becomes available, you will be ready to apply with ease.
