Composing and sending text messages from your cell phone can be expensive and time-consuming. If you have immediate access to a desktop computer or a laptop, sending a text message may be accomplished more more efficiently. There is no charge for you to send text messages from your computer and you can type much faster than when texting from a cell phone.
Log in to your computer's email program.
Type your friend's cell phone number into the "to" box in the email header.
Type the @ symbol after the phone number.
Add the text address for your friend's cell phone carrier after the cell number and @ symbol. Here are the text addresses for the most commonly used cell phone carriers:
Verizon= number @vtext.com AT&T= number @txt.att.net T-Mobile= number @tmomail.net Sprint= number @messaging.sprintpcs.com
Type your message and hit send. Your friend will receive your email as a text message.
