The PC role-playing game Baldur's Gate 2 has a great number of special magical weapons that can be found if you take the time to do some extra searching. The legendary artifact called the Flail of Ages, which deal extra elemental damage to your enemies, can be acquired if you find all three of its broken pieces and forge them back together.
Complete the first dungeon where the party wakes up at the beginning of the game, and then enter the city of Athkatla.
Head to the Slums District and speak with the woman named Nalia inside the Copper Coronet tavern. Agree to help her rid her ancestral home of the monsters who have invaded it.
Go to the City Gates to access the world map, and then travel to the De'Arnise stronghold.
Enter the secret cave entrance to the stronghold, just to the north and east of the main entrance.
Find the first piece of the Flail of Ages inside the statue shaped like a lion on the first floor. Take the second piece from the guard named Glacias who can be found on the second floor. You can get the third and final piece by searching the middle statue in the room on the second floor that is filled with stone golems.
Take the three pieces back to the first floor and put them in the forge to assemble the Flail of Ages.
Tips
The Flail of Ages deals additional acid, fire, and cold damage with each successful hit, which makes it especially useful against trolls and other creatures that are weak against elemental attacks.
