How to Get YouTube on a Panasonic VIERA

Internet-enabled Panasonic Viera TV sets come with a standard YouTube app as part of the Viera Connect package of Internet applications. To access YouTube and the other Internet apps on your Panasonic Viera TV set, you must first connect the set to your home network via a hard-wire Ethernet connection to the Internet router or, on some Viera models, with a wireless connection through the integrated Wi-Fi antenna or a Wi-Fi adapter that plugs into the network port.
Connect to the Network
Step 1
Power on your Internet router if it's not already switched on.
Step 2
Press the "Menu" button on the Panasonic Viera remote control.
Step 3
Highlight the "Network" menu option with the directional arrow buttons on the remote control and then press the "OK" button to select this option.
Step 4
Select "Network connection" and then select either "Ethernet cable" or "Wireless (Wi-Fi)." If you've connected the Ethernet cable option, the TV set will automatically connect to the Internet when you select YouTube from the Viera Connect menu. Follow the next steps to set up a wireless connection.
Step 5
Select "Wireless Network" and wait a few moments for the Panasonic Viera to scan for available Wi-Fi networks.
Step 6
Select your network from the list of wireless access points. If prompted, enter the network security password. Now that you've set up the network connection, the TV set will connect automatically each time you want to access YouTube or other Viera Connect Internet apps.
Access YouTube on Viera Connect
Step 1
Press the "Internet" button on the Panasonic Viera remote control and then select "Viera Connect."
Step 2
Highlight the YouTube icon with the directional arrow buttons on the remore control and then press the "OK" button to launch the app.
Step 3
Wait a few seconds for the TV set to connect to the Internet and load the YouTube screen.
Step 4
Select "Search," "Featured" or "Popular" from the left menu to view video clips in these categories.
Step 5
Select "My YouTube" to access the same YouTube account that you use on your computer or mobile device. When prompted, enter your YouTube username and password to view your favorite and uploaded video clips.
Tips
- If your Internet router has Wi-Fi Protected Setup, press the "WPS" button on the router and the red button on the Panasonic Viera remote control while you're in the Wireless Network menu to connect to the network without entering the security password.
