If your Qualcom phone is a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) phone, it is locked to a specific network. If you need to switch mobile providers, you must unlock your phone. Since your phone does not come with a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card, it is a little harder to switch providers. Fortunately, some websites provide unlocking software for your CDMA phone. The software will generate a code for you to unlock it.

Step 1

Enter *#06# in your phone's keypad. Write down the 15-to-17-digit IMEI code you receive.

Step 2

Download CDMA unlocking software. Examples include CDMA software, Unlock to Talk and CDMA ware (see Resources). Save the software to your computer's desktop.

Step 3

Double-click the software to begin installation. Read and accept the terms of agreement. Save the software to your computer's hard drive.

Step 4

Connect your phone to your computer with its accompanying USB data cable. Launch the CDMA unlocking software.

Step 5

Enter your phone's IMEI code, manufacturer and model number. Choose the mobile provider you have your phone locked to.

Step 6

Enter the unlock code generated by the software. Once you enter the code, your phone should say "SIM Restrictions Off" or "Restrictions Off." This means you unlocked your phone.
