How to Turn on My Cyber YouCam

by Michael Roennevig

CyberLink's YouCam allows you to capture and add effects to webcam footage that you can then save and send as an email attachment or edit in other programs. You can also record and add real-time effects to your webcam output when using instant messaging services. Once you have downloaded the program, it's easy to get started if you have a properly configured webcam.

Visit the YouCam page on the CyberLink website and download the version of the program you want.

Follow the instructions to install YouCam on your computer.

Load your webcam's drivers from the disk supplied with it and connect it to your computer if you don't have an integrated camera. If you have lost the drivers that came with your webcam, visit the manufacturer's website to download them.

Click on the YouCam icon in the start menu, the desktop shortcut or the icon in the system tray to launch the application. Your webcam automatically connects to the YouCam.
