How to Tell If Your Spouse Is Spying on Your Computer

by TS Jordan

Marital problems can leave you suspicious about your computer’s security, as your spouse can easily install monitoring software to your PC to track your online and computing habits. You can ascertain whether you are being “spied upon” by monitoring the programs and processes running on your computer, alerting you to whether monitoring software is active.

1

Press "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete" at the same time. Select "Start Task Manager."

2

Click "Processes" and write down the name of any unfamiliar process that you know you did not open.

3

Click "Start" and type "msconfig" into the "Search" box. Press "Enter."

4

Click "Startup" and write down the name of any unfamiliar software program that you know you did not install to your computer.

5

Use Google or another search engine and search for the process and program names discovered in the previous steps. This will tell you whether any of the items are monitoring software.
