How to Restrict Your Number

Restricting a phone number is a relatively easy process that helps you maintain your privacy. You can restrict a telephone number by either entering a sequence of characters prior to dialing the number, or using a more involved method that will result in a restriction of the number on all outbound calls. While the call recipient's phone will still receive the number the caller ID will display "anonymous," "private number" or another similar statement.
Restrict your Phone Number on an Individual Basis
Dial 67 on a cell or home phone. If using a home phone, dial 67 and wait for the rapid succession of beeps to stop before entering the phone number.
Dial the telephone number after entering *67. On a cell phone, press the send button to complete the process.
Wait for the call to go through.
Restrict your Phone Number Permanently for a Cell Phone
Contact the cell phone company's customer service department.
Ask to be transferred to the customer service department responsible for "line blocks."
Request that the customer service representative set up a line block for your cell phone number.
Restrict your Phone Number Permanently for a Home Phone
Contact the phone service provider for the home phone.
Ask to be transferred to the customer service department responsible for "caller ID blocking."
Request that the customer service representative set up caller ID blocking for your home phone number. A monthly fee may be added to your home telephone bill for this service.

- If you restrict your telephone number with a line block and wish to have your number displayed when making an outbound call, dial *82 prior to the number (e.g. *82 333-444-5555).
- Dial 611 if using a cell phone to contact customer service.
