How to Find Someone's Facebook or MySpace

by Erika Dean

Facebook and MySpace are social-networking sites that allow you to connect with friends. You can use both sites to send messages and read updates about your friends. It is easy to find someone's Facebook or MySpace profile if you want to add them to your friend list. After you add a friend on either site, Facebook or MySpace will send you a message to let you know you were confirmed as a friend.

Finding a Friend on Facebook

1

Sign in to your Facebook account using your email address and password. If you do not have a Facebook account, you can obtain one for free at facebook.com.

2

Enter the name of a friend you want to find in the search box at the top of the page. Hit the "Enter" key on your keyboard or click the magnifying glass beside the search box so the search will begin.

3

Look through the profiles that come up in the search. If you find your friend's Facebook profile, click "Add Friend" beside the picture in the list; when the box pops up to confirm, click "Send Request".

4

Click on the "Friends" tab from the menu at the top of the page, enter your email address and click "Find Friends". You can use this tool to search for your friends by allowing Facebook to go through your email addresses and show your contacts who are on Facebook. Click "Add Friend" beside any contacts you want to add to Facebook and then click "Send Request".

Finding friends on MySpace

Log in to your MySpace account with your email address and password. If you do not have a MySpace account, you can obtain one for free at myspace.com.

2

Type in the name of the friend you want to add to MySpace in the search box at the top of the page.

3

Look through the search results. If you see your friend's MySpace page, click "Add to Friends" beside the profile. When a box pops up asking you to confirm, click "Add to Friends".

4

Click "Friends" on the menu at the top of the page. A drop-down box will open; select "Find Friends". If you know your friend's MySpace display name or email address, enter it in the box and click "Search". Look through the list and click "Add to Friends" if you see your friend on the list.
