How to Get a Skype Account Set Upby eHow Contributor
Skype has many features. The basic Skype account will allow you to make calls using your computer to anyone who is a Skype user. This takes about 10 or 15 minutes of time.
Navigate to Skype's download page and select the desired download option. You can get the standard Windows version, business version, mobile version and other platforms. This will take you to another page where you will be prompted to download Skype.
Select "Get Skype for Windows." Then click the "Download Skype" button. This will download the setup file to your default downloads folder, which is typically "Downloads." If you're prompted to save the file, click the "Save File" button. Skype begins the download. Skypesetup.exe will pop up on your screen.
Click the "Run" button to run the setup program. You might need to adjust your cookie setting on you PC so the pop up comes up. You can set it to allow cookies under Internet options (the "Privacy" tab).
Follow the online prompts to finish the installation. You'll need to select a screen name and a password.
