How to Set a Clock on an AM/FM Radio in a 2005 Colorado

By Lori Spencer

Setting the clock on your 2005 Chevy Colorado's AM/FM radio can be tricky. Owners frequently complain that the clock set controls are very difficult to find. Don't despair; it's not rocket science to set a car radio clock, but this model does require you to jump through a few extra hoops. It's not a bad idea to have a magnifying glass handy, as the controls are tiny buttons and are not clearly labeled. While the Delphi sound system gets overall good reviews, this design flaw annoys many Colorado owners, so you're not alone.

Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position but do not start the truck.

Press the "Set" button, and then the "Channel Up" (TUNE +) button. The lettering is small and very hard to read on these buttons; look for "HR" and "MIN" at the top of the channel up/down select buttons.

Wait until "SET" appears in the radio's LED display window.

Use the "SEEK" button to adjust the hour.

Use the "SCAN" button to set the minutes.

Press and hold the "SET" button again until it beeps to indicate clock settings have been changed.

Turn off the radio and turn it on again after 15-30 seconds.

Start the car. The correct time should now display.
