How to Send a Voice Mail Online

by Kevin Lieberman

Send a voice mail online to your family, friends or colleagues and give them the flexibility and convenience of listening to your voice mail on their own computer. When you send a voice mail message online, you can add additional recipients with greater convenience as compared with having to call each person separately. Sending your voice mail messages online also makes it easier for you and the recipient of your message to archive or forward it to others.

Open "Sound Recorder" on your computer. Begin by clicking the "Start" menu and selecting "All Programs." Click the "Accessories" folder and browse the contents to locate "Sound Recorder." Depending on which version of Microsoft Windows you are using, it may be located in the "Entertainment" subfolder or the "Multimedia" subfolder. Click on "Sound Recorder" to open the program.

Start recording your voice mail message. Depending on which version of Microsoft Windows you are using, Sound Recorder may or may not have a "File" menu option. If you see a "File" menu, click on it and select "New." Click on the "Record" button and begin speaking. When you are finished, click the "Stop" button to stop recording. If you do not have a "File" menu on your version of Sound Recorder, simply click "Start Recording," begin speaking and click "Stop Recording" when you are finished.

Save your voice mail message. Click on the "File" menu and select "Save as." If you do not have a "File" menu on your version of Sound Recorder, the "Save as" menu will open automatically after you click "Stop Recording." Enter a name for your file and click "Save" to save your voice mail message to a location on your computer.

Attach your voice mail message file to an email. Log in to your email program and compose a new message. Click the file attachment option to browse to the location where you saved your voice mail message file, click on the file to select it and then click "Open" to attach the voice mail message to your email.

Enter your recipient's email address and click "Send" to send your voice mail online.
