How to Send a Fax From a Scanner or Copier

You can easily fax a scanned document using the "Windows Fax and Scan" utility. You can use the Windows Fax and Scan utility with any scanner or copier that is attached to your computer. To do this, make sure that a fax modem is connected to the computer. To use the fax modem, you will need to plug it into a working phone line.

Click the "Start" button and select the option for "All Programs." Click the option for "Windows Fax and Scan."

Click the "Scan" option in the lower left corner of the window. Click the "New Scan" button to scan a document. Select "Documents" from the "Profile" drop-down selection box.

Click the "Scan" button to scan the document. The document will appear on the screen after it has been scanned.

Click the "Forward as Fax" button on the toolbar to fax the scanned document. This displays the "New Fax" window.

Enter the fax number into the "To:" text box. Enter a subject for the fax into the text box for "Subject."

Click the "Send" button to fax the document to the recipient.
