The iPhone's touchscreen allows you to scroll up or down within applications using just your finger. The screen tracks your finger accurately, so your scroll speed depends on how slow or fast your finger glides up or down the screen. However, if you are running an iPhone application where you have scroll through a long list just to find a particular item, you can scroll even faster.

Step 1

Launch the iPhone application in which you wish to scroll faster. For instance, you can launch the "Contacts" application if you have a lot of contacts and wish to find a certain one quickly.

Step 2

Swipe your finger from the bottom of the screen all the way to the top of the screen to scroll down. Perform the gesture in the opposite direction to scroll up.

Step 3

Repeat this gesture as many times as you like while the application is scrolling to increase the speed.
