SIM cards, a popular feature on many cell phones around the world, including Motorola cell phones, allow you to store all of your contacts, ringtones and files on one memory card. Instead of losing all of your information when you switch phones, you can simply remove the SIM card from one phone and insert it into another to access the same files. Removing a SIM card from a Motorola cell phone is very easy to do. Just follow these steps.

Step 1

Remove the back cover of your Motorola cell phone. Press the release tab down, then slide the back off by lifting it from the phone with your finger.

Step 2

Remove the battery from the cell phone with your fingers using the small tab on one corner of the battery. The tab is located away from the notched ends that insert into the phone. If the battery is inserted too tightly, trying using a pen to--carefully--pry it out.

Step 3

Locate the SIM card, which is found under the spot where the battery was located. Only the top half of the SIM card will be visible, as the notched end is under a small holder.

Step 4

Remove the SIM card. Use your finger and press down on the exposed area of the SIM card, then pull your finger back to slide the card out from under the holder. You can then reinsert the card, insert a new card or place the battery back into the phone without the card. When you are done, ensure the battery is securely in place, then reinstall the back cover on your Motorola phone.
