How to Remove MSN History
By Maya Austen
Periodically clearing your search history not only helps to free up space on your computer's hard drive, but it also helps to protect your privacy. There may be instances, however, when you may not want to clear your entire search history, just certain parts of it. You may remove MSN search history from your computer through your MSN toolbar (if you have one installed); or through your Web browser. To delete specific items from your Web browser's history, you have to open your browser's history list.
Clear MSN Search History from MSN Toolbar
Open the Web browser where your MSN toolbar is installed.
Click the small downward-facing arrow on the MSN logo button.
Select "Clear Search History" from the drop-down menu.
Delete MSN History from Internet Explorer
Launch Internet Explorer.
Open Internet Explorer's history list. Go to the "View" menu, select "Explorer Bars" and click "History." Or you may also use the shortcut keys "Ctrl" plus "H" to open the history list.
Click on the small downward-facing arrow in the "View By Field" box and select "View By Site" from the drop down menu.
Look for any site in the Internet Explorer history list with an "MSN.com" domain name. Right-click on it and select "Delete" from the pop-up shortcut menu. If a "Warning" dialog box pops up, confirm that you would like to delete this history item by clicking "Yes."
Repeat Step 4 until you have deleted all of the items in the Internet Explorer history list with an "MSN.com" domain name.
Remove MSN History from Firefox
Open your Firefox browser.
Open the Firefox history list. Go to the "View" menu, select "Sidebar" and click "History." Or you may also use the shortcut keys "Ctrl" plus "Shift" plus "H" to open the Firefox history list.
Click the small arrow on the "View" button. Select "By site" from the drop-down menu.
Look for any site in the Firefox history list with an "MSN.com" domain name. Right-click on the MSN site listing and select "Delete" from the pop-up shortcut menu. If a "Warning" dialog box pops up, confirm that you would like to delete this history item by clicking "Yes."
Repeat Step 4 until you have deleted all of the items in the Firefox history list with an "MSN.com" domain name.
