How to Queue on Tumblr

by Jason Artman

As a Tumblr user, you may occasionally have days where you feel particularly inspired and have many ideas at once for items that you can add to your Tumblr blog. However, if you post all of those things immediately, your readers may become bored and leave before reading all of it. To keep people coming back each day, queue your posts so Tumblr publishes them automatically at an interval you specify.

Click an icon at the top of the Tumblr dashboard such as "Text" or "Photo" to create a new post containing that type of content. Create the post as you normally would by typing the content or clicking the "Choose File" button to upload an image or other media file from your computer.

Click the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of the page with the words "Publish Now," and select "Publish On."

Click the "Post Date" field below, and type the date that you would like to publish the post using the format "YYYY-MM-DD," such as "2012-01-01." You can also specify a time by pressing the space bar and entering the time in the format "HH:MM:SS," such as "12:00:00."

Click the "Schedule Post" button at the bottom of the page.
