How to Put the HP Officejet 4300 Series Printer Online

by Andrew Todd

The HP Officejet 4300 is a compact all-in-one printer, suitable for both home and small business use. The HP Officejet 4300 is capable of printing, scanning, copying and faxing and connects to your computer using a universal serial bus cable. If you have multiple printers connected to your computer, you may wish to set the HP Officejet 4300 status to offline to avoid printing to it. Once you are ready to print using the HP Officejet 4300, bring it back online.

Open the "Start" menu and then click "Devices and Printers."

Double-click the HP Officejet 4300 icon.

Select "Printer: Offline" from within the HP Officejet 4300 window to open the print queue.

Click "Printer" from within the "Print" queue window and then click "Use Printer Offline" to remove the check mark and bring the printer online.

Tip

  • check Follow these same steps to take the printer offline, with one exception: when bringing a printer offline from an online state, "Printer: Ready" appears instead of "Printer: Offline" in the HP Officejet 4300 window.
