PNG to JPG on a Mac

by Lindsay Howell

PNG is a file type commonly used because it compresses image file size with almost no loss in image quality. The downside to having PNG files is that not every site allows users to upload them, but every site accepts JPG image files. In a Mac computer, the conversion of a PNG to a JPG file is done in the Preview program.

Double-click the PNG file to open it in Mac's Preview.

Click the "File" button, and click "Save as."

Select ".JPG" for the file type in the file type box, then click "OK."
