How to Open a Verizon Email Accountby eHow Internet Editor
Opening an email account with Verizon requires you to order their Internet service. Verizon offers many different plans for their Internet service. Verizon also bundles other services they provide into one bill. For example, if you use Verizon wireless and you sign up for their Internet service, you receive discounts and have all your services listed on one bill.
Call Verizon Customer Service and choose the "New Service" option on the automated phone line or go to the Verizon website and review their various Internet plans and prices. Choose the "Can I Get It?" button beside the package of your choice.
Enter your phone number or address in the form provided then click the "Can I Get It?" option to check for service in your area. If you do not have a phone with Verizon, enter the address first to check for service.
Fill in the form provided with your account information. If you are already a Verizon customer, choose to have the Internet service added to your phone bill. Another option is to have it billed separately.
Click "Order" to complete the process. Verizon gives you an estimated time when your Internet and email services are available for you.
Install the Verizon software from the CD Rom that is mailed to you. Once your service date arrives, follow the step-by-step instructions on the CD and start your Verizon Internet and email account.
- check View your order status at Verizon.com to check the delivery of your software.
