If you run out of battery on your Vizio remote controller or if the controller doesn't work any more, you can still manually scan for channels on your Vizio TV. However, you must be able to access the "Menu" button on the TV, as well as the arrow and "Enter" buttons. These buttons are typically located on the left side panel of the TV. The buttons you press to scan for channels are identical to those you press when using a remote.

Step 1

Press the "Input" button several times until you select the "TV" input.

Step 2

Press the "Menu" button, press the "Up" and "Down" arrow buttons to highlight "TV" menu and press the "Menu" button again to enter the TV menu.

Step 3

Press the "Up" and "Down" arrow buttons to select "Tuner Mode" and press the "Left" and "Right" arrow buttons to select the "Cable" or "Antenna," depending on the equipment connected to your TV.

Step 4

Press the "Up" and "Down" arrow buttons to select "Auto Search" and press the "Menu" button to scan for all channels that are available in your area.
