Do LED Flat Screen TV's Freeze in Cold Weather?

An LED television is a type of liquid-crystal display illuminated from the back or side by light-emitting diodes. Cold temperatures can reduce an LED TV's performance or cause damage by creating condensation on sensitive electronic components. Because the liquid crystal in the display is semi-solid, it doesn't freeze the way water does in cold weather.
Prevent Damage to Your LED Flat-Screen TV
Individual TVs operate within different temperature ranges, so always consult your owner's manual before using your television in extreme conditions. Usually, the temperature range in which a TV can be stored is larger than the range in which it can be operated, although damage may still result if temperatures fall below this range. If temperatures fall below the recommended operating range, wait at least 24 hours after raising the temperature to allow condensation to evaporate from the internal metal components. Turning on your television when condensation has formed on electronic components can permanently destroy it. While watching your TV below the recommended operating temperature may not destroy it, the picture can become corrupted and pixelated.
