Log onto the University of South Dakota Excel tutorial. Scroll down the page and then click the "Formulas" link. Once you do, you will be able to read about the basics of using formulas in Excel. Click on the right arrow located on the page to get to the next lesson (each page is a new lesson). After the fifth page, you will begin to find specific Excel formulas.
Visit the Microsoft Office Excel "Examples of commonly used formulas" Web page. On this page, you will be able to learn Excel formulas by different types of formulas, such as "Date and Time," "Math" and "Financial." Click on one of the links located under the "Example" heading. After you click the link, you will find different formulas for the specific task that you selected on the previous page.
Go to the Excel Tip homepage. Click on the "By Category" tab and a list of options will appear. Click the "Excel Formula and Function" option and you will be taken to over a dozen different links. These links will allow you to locate Excel formulas by type, such as "Summing," "Counting" and Logical Formulas." Click on one of these links and you will find different formulas and tips on the next page.
