Like other iPod models, the iPod Shuffle uses your computer's iTunes application to sync music and media. You can also use iTunes to apply various settings to your iPod Shuffle. ITunes makes it possible for you to edit the equalizer settings of each track in your music library. Choose between a number of built-in equalizer preset options, including "Bass Booster," to improve your listening experience. Once you enable the bass boost preset for music in your iTunes library, sync the iPod Shuffle as you would normally to apply the changes to the device.

Open iTunes on your computer.

Click the "Music" tab in the iTunes left sidebar.

Open the "Edit" menu at the top of the program interface. Click the "Select All" option. ITunes selects all the music in your library.

Open the "File" menu at the top of the window. Select the "Get Info" option. A dialog box appears.

Select the "Options" tab of the dialog box. The Options page opens.

Click the drop-down arrow of the "Equalizer Preset" field.

Select the "Bass Boost" option from the Equalizer Presets drop-down list.

Click the "OK" button of the dialog to close the window and return to iTunes.
