How to Fix a "Cannot Locate Microsoft Visual FoxPro Support" Error

If you try to open a Visual FoxPro database management document but don't have the program installed on your computer, you will receive the "Cannot locate the Microsoft Visual FoxPro support library" error message. If you have this program installed already, but still can't open files, you will need to change the program's settings to get rid of the error message so that you can open the files and use the application normally.

Step 1

Open Visual FoxPro on your computer.

Step 2

Select the Installation Designer tab and press the F4 key to see the View List feature. Click Specify Application Data and then click Redistributables.

Step 3

Check the box next to Microsoft Visual FoxPro X Runtime Libraries. Save your changes and close the program. You can now open Visual FoxPro files.
