Dynamic-Link Library (DLL) files are used by different applications to perform the shared specific functions. The reason for this is that the programs do not have to have all the coding they need because they can borrow missing pieces from the operating system, thus reducing the total size on the hard disk. However, if a DLL file becomes corrupt or missing then the applications using it will not run properly. Fortunately, you can download a replacement DLL file at no charge and install it within minutes.

Step 1

Go to Dll-files website (see Resource) and then click on "Download File" to open a new window.

Step 2

Click on "Save File" in the confirmation pop-up to begin the download.

Step 3

Double-click the saved file once the download is finished to automatically open it with either WinRAR or WinZip, and then right-click the DLL file and select "Copy."

Step 4

Navigate to the system directory on your hard drive (click "C:," click "Windows" and then click "System32"), right-click anywhere in a blank space and select "Paste." Click on "Yes" to confirm replacing the old "kernel32.dll" file.

Step 5

Go to the "Start" menu, select "Run," type "regsvr32 “C:\Windows\System32\kernel32.dll” (without quotes) and click "Enter." Click on "OK" in the confirmation pop-up to register the DLL. Restart your computer.
