Apple's iPod Nano is a smaller version of its popular iPod. To remove media from the device, you will have to plug it into a computer. You can't remove media manually just by selecting options on the device itself. Media on the small device can be easily managed with the iTunes software. iTunes can not only add music, videos, and photos to the iPod Nano, it can also remove them.

Step 1

Plug in your iPod Nano into your computer using the device's included USB sync cable.

Step 2

Open the iTunes software.

Step 3

Click the arrow icon next to your device name in the left pane, then click "Music."

Step 4

Select a song to delete in the main window.

Step 5

Right-click the song and select "Delete" from the drop-down menu. Then press the "Remove" button on the pop-up window. Repeat for each song you want to erase from the iPod.
