Flash drives have hidden files that help them function properly

Hidden folders in a flash drive contain the programs that help the flash drive function properly. These files are hidden so that inexperienced users do not accidentally delete them or modify them in any way. You can also make hidden files so that they do not appear on the flash drive until you change the settings to reveal them.

1

Insert the flash drive into an open USB port. Press "Start," click "My Computer" and then click on the icon for your flash drive.

2

Expand the "Tools" tab on the top of the page.

3

Click on the "View" tab. In the list, check the circle next to "Show Hidden Files and Folders," which is under the "Hidden Files and Folders" folder. Click "Apply" to save the changes.
