How to Delete Predictive Search

by Tim Mammadov

Google Instant is the feature of Google search engine that provides predictive search query and results while you are still typing the search string. Google searches for the best matches for a possible query based on what you are typing. This way you can find what you are looking for without having to type in the whole query. Google Instant provides faster and better instant results, as compared to other search engines. However, if you want to get rid of it then you can turn off the feature on the Google preferences page.

Start your browser and navigate to Google search page.

Click "Search settings" link in the top right corner of the page next to "iGoogle." This will take you to the Google Preferences page.

Scroll down to "Autocomplete" section and check the "Do not provide query predictions in the search box" option.

Click "Save Preferences."
