How to Convert ODG to PNG or JPG

by Matthew Burley

OpenOffice is a suite of programs that is comparable to Microsoft Office. Among those programs is OpenOffice Draw, which you can use to create images. The default file format is .ODG which, unfortunately, is not compatible with many other programs. Fortunately there is a free online conversion tool that can convert your .ODG file to a .JPG or .PNG file, which is compatible with a number of different programs, thereby allowing you to use those programs to edit or print the image.

Open a Web browser window, and navigate to the Convert Files ODG to JPG Converter at Convertfiles.com.

Click the "Browse" button in the center of the window, then double-click your .ODG file.

Click the drop-down menu at the right side of the screen, next to "Output Format," then click the "JPEG File" or "PNG File" option.

Click the "Convert" button at the center of the window.

Right-click the link at the center of the window, then click "Save Link As," or "Save Target As." Your converted file will be downloaded as a .ZIP file.

Click the "Save" button to download the file to your computer.

Right-click on your downloaded file, then click "Extract All."

Click "Extract" to unzip the file.

Tip

  • check If you have installed OpenOffice on your computer, you can open the file in OpenOffice Draw, and convert the file to a .PDF, which is a file format compatible with a number of programs. To convert the file to a .PDF, click "File" at the top of the window, click "Export as PDF," then click "Export." The converted .PDF file can then be opened in a variety of different image editing programs and converted to a .JPG or .PNG file from there.
