How to Convert a 3D DWF Into a 3D PDF

By Lee Prangnell

Design Web Format (DWF) is a rich graphic 2D and 3D design format by Autodesk, the makers of AutoCAD and Autodesk Design Review. Portable Document Format (PDF) was developed by Adobe Systems, the makers of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat. You can convert a 3D DWF design file to a 3D PDF file by using the Adobe Printer, which is a standard function of the Adobe Acrobat Professional software application.

Step 1

Open the DWF file in the Autodesk Design Review software.

Step 2

Press "Ctrl" and "P" on your keyboard, change the printer to "Adobe PDF," then click on "OK." A file save dialog box will appear.

Step 3

Change the file save location to the "Windows Desktop," type a name for the PDF file, then click on "Save." Wait for the PDF printing process to complete. This will convert the DWF file to a PDF file.

Step 4

Double-click on the PDF file you have just saved to confirm that it has converted the DWF file successfully. This file should automatically open in Adobe Acrobat Professional.
