Using a wireless subwoofer with your sound bar limits the amount of unsightly cords dangling around your viewing room and creating a tripping hazard. Additionally, without the restrictions of a cable, you have more freedom over where you put the subwoofer in the room. Vizio sells wireless subwoofers with some of its sound bars, and makes pairing the two devices as easy as holding two buttons down.

Step 1

Plug the AC power cable that powers the wireless subwoofer into an available AC output. Plug the connector on the opposite end of the power cable into the 12-V power input on the back of the subwoofer. The subwoofer automatically turns on when you plug it in.

Step 2

Press the "Power" button to turn your Vizio sound bar on, if it isn't on already.

Step 3

Position the subwoofer and the Vizio sound bar so that they are as close as possible, preferably no more than 8 feet apart.

Step 4

Hold down both the metal "Link" button on the back side of the subwoofer and the "Input" button on the sound bar at the same time. The LED display on the front of the Vizio sound bar starts flashing rapidly, indicating that the two devices are trying to find each other; the two devices are successfully paired after the LED display stops flashing. If the devices still aren't paired after 30 seconds and the LED display stops flashing, try pairing them again.
