How to Connect to an AT&T Hotspotby Mario Calhoun
Wireless access through AT&T is available throughout your city with the AT&T hot spot service, which connects your laptop to AT&T high-speed wireless Internet service. While AT&T hot spots are available for free for AT&T subscribers, non-subscribers can also connect to the wireless service for a fee of $3.99 per session as of April 2011. Your Internet connection remains strong as long as you stay within the hot spot's Wi-Fi range, which is determined by your laptop's connection-signal icon.
Click the Windows icon on your laptop's desktop and then click "Control Panel."
Click "Network and Internet" in the Control Panel and then click "Connect to a network" underneath the "Network and Sharing Center" section.
Click "attwifi" in the list of available networks and then click "Connect." Launch your Internet browser, which re-directs you to the AT&T Wi-Fi hot spot login page.
Type your AT&T user name and then click the domain drop-down menu. Click your domain name, which is "att.net," "sbcglobal.net" or "ameritech.net" depending on your AT&T email address.
Enter your account password and then click the checkbox next to the "I agree" section to agree to the terms of service. Click "Login" to begin using the Wi-Fi hot spot.
