How to Connect Android to Macbook Pro

by Tiffany Garden

Mac computers are unable to use syncing software offered by several Android phone manufacturers, but you are able to use the phone as a USB mass storage device. Your Macbook Pro recognizes the smartphone as a removable media device and pops it up on the desktop. You can only access the SD card that contains your phone's data during a connection.

Connect your USB data cable to the Android, and to the Macbook.

Pull down the Notification pane on your Andriod. Tap "USB Connection." Tap "USB Mass Storage."

Search the desktop of your Macbook for the mounted SD card. Double-click this drive to explore its contents.

Tip

  • check You can transfer your files to the SD card by either dragging and dropping to the desktop icon, or double-clicking the icon and dragging your files there.
