How to Compose an Email to All My Friends on Facebook

by Kristen Waters

Facebook is a popular social networking site that incorporates an "Inbox" that you can use to email one or more friends. This "Inbox" works like a regular email service, allowing users to send and reply to messages. The messaging system only allows you to email 20 friends at a time. If you have more than 20 friends and would like to send one email to all of them, you must first create a list with all your friends as members.

Creating the List

Open your Facebook home page.

Click on the "Friends" link at the top of the page.

Click on "All Friends" in the drop-down list.

Click on "Create New List" in the gray toolbar at the top of the page.

Type the name of your list in the text box at the top of the pop-up window that appears.

Select all your friends from the list of friends, groups and fan pages in the lower portion of the pop-up window.

Click "Create List" to create your new mailing list.

Sending the Email

Click on "Inbox" in the blue toolbar at the top of the page.

Click on "+Compose" button in the gray toolbar at the top of the "Inbox" page. A "Compose Message" window will appear.

Type the name of your mailing list in the "To:" text box.

Compose your email by typing the subject in the "Subject:" text box and the body of the email in the "Message:" text box.

Click "Send" to send the email to all your Facebook friends.
