Norton Internet Security is an antivirus program created by Symantec. Norton Internet Security is designed to detect and remove malicious files, identify unsafe websites and protect users from online identity theft. Many computers come preinstalled with Norton Internet Security. Thus, users may wish to remove the antivirus program in order to replace it with a different program. This can be done manually or with the help of the Norton Removal Tool.

Method One

Click on the "Start" menu.

Click on "Control Panel."

Click on "Add/Remove Programs." Or, if using Windows Vista or Windows 7, simply click on "Uninstall a Program."

Locate the Norton Internet Security program from the list of programs and click on it.

Double-click on "Remove." Or, if using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click on "Uninstall." A new window will open.

Click "Remove All." Once the removal process is complete, restart your computer.

Method Two

Click on the "Norton Removal Tool" Resource link below.

Click "Save File."

Save the file to your desktop.

Double-click on the Norton Removal Tool icon once it appears on your desktop.

Once the removal process is complete, restart your computer.
