Sprint has made it a goal to provide reliable phone service since 1899. Today, Sprint is one of the leading providers of mobile phone service in the United States. While they offer competitive prices, you may still find yourself wanting to get out of another contract, whether it be because you want to switch companies or simply because you can't afford to keep a phone. Regardless of your reasons, the process for closing an account is the same.
Call 1-888-211-4727 to speak to a Sprint customer service representative. If you are using you Sprint phone to cancel your service, you can simply dial *2 to get to customer service. However, it is recommended that you use a phone other than the one you wish to cancel.
Tell the customer service representative that you want to close your account. He will ask for information such as your phone number and the last four digits of your Social Security number to confirm your identity.
Stay on the line until she tells you the account is closed. Ask the customer service representative for her name as well as the case number. It is good to have this information, just in case something goes wrong with the account cancellation.
- check If you plan on transferring your current phone number to a new carrier, make sure you contact the new carrier first. Otherwise, it is likely that you will lose the number.
