How to Clean a Toshiba Satellite Keyboard

by Melissa Rae

The Toshiba Satellite laptop is available in a range of sizes, from the lightweight 13.3-inch model to the larger 18.4-inch high-definition widescreen. Everyday use leaves fingerprints, dirt and food crumbs all over the keyboard. Sticky keys make typing difficult, while germs thrive between the keys and on the surface. Use compressed air to remove debris from underneath the keys, and clean the surface with quick-drying isopropyl alcohol.

Turn off the Toshiba Satellite laptop.

Hold the laptop upside down over the trash, shaking it to remove any loose debris from inside the keyboard.

Blow compressed air along the keyboard, directing the airflow between the keys and out to the side.

Dampen a soft cloth with isopropyl alcohol. Wipe the keys, touchpad, buttons and surrounding areas with the cloth. Clean the small cracks and spaces with an alcohol-dampened cotton swab. Wait a minute or two for the keyboard to dry.

Vacuum the Toshiba Satellite keyboard with a brush attachment to remove any debris left over from the cleaning process.
