How to Check Recent Internet History

by Patrick Hutchison

Every time you type a web address into the address bar of your Internet browser or click on a link to a new web page, your browser saves and categorizes the web page information. You can access your recent Internet history and find web pages you have visited by searching for keywords or browsing through sites sorted by date or by how often they were visited.

Internet Explorer 8

Click on "Favorites" at the top of your browser window. There should be a small yellow star on the "Favorites" button.

Select the "History" tab within the Favorites menu and select a sorting option. Websites can be sorted by date, site or frequency of visits.

Sort by date and select the most recent dates to see your most recent Internet history. The web pages will be listed in the order they were visited; so, the sites you checked in the morning will be at the top of the list and the sites visited at night will be near the bottom.

Mozilla Firefox 3.6

Click on "History" at the top of your browser window. The most recent web pages visited will appear within this menu; however, the list is usually limited to a few web pages.

Select "Show All History" from the History menu.

Select a time period to view from the Internet history window, or search for web pages by using the search bar at the top of the Internet history window.

Google Chrome

Click on the "Settings" button at the top right of your browser window. The settings button will be represented by a small blue wrench.

Select "History" within the settings window.
