How to Change Task Bar Location

by Tim Mammadov

The Windows taskbar is by default located at the bottom of the screen. You can access the "Start" menu, the system notification area with the clock, and the currently opened windows from the taskbar. Sometimes this feature becomes inconvenient if you need the bottom of the screen to be viewable. Fortunately, you can easily move the taskbar to the right, left or top of the screen.

1

Right-click the taskbar anywhere in a blank space and uncheck "Lock the Taskbar" (if checked).

2

Click the taskbar anywhere in a blank space and move it to either side or the top of the screen while still holding the mouse button.

3

Release the button when the taskbar is in the desired location. Move the cursor to the edge of the taskbar until it turns into a double-headed arrow, then click and adjust the width of the taskbar.
