Log in to Facebook and navigate to the person's profile page.

Select the "Message" button.

Type your message into the "Write a Message" field.

Select "Send" to send the message to the person.

  • check You can also send a message from your inbox. Select "Messages" in the left-hand pane after logging in to Facebook to open your inbox. Select "+ New Message" and type the name or email of the person you want to message. Type your message and choose "Send."
  • check Depending on a person's message settings, he may receive your message in the "Other" folder if you aren't friends with him, decreasing the chance he'll read the message.
  • check You can search for people by typing a person's name in the "Search for People, Places or Things" field.
