How Can I Format My Font in Facebook Notes?

by Shawn Farner

Format Facebook Notes, which are basically Facebook's take on blog posts, using a variety of HTML commands. These commands enable formatting options such as bold, italicized or underlined text; large text; and em dashes. Adding formatting to your Facebook Notes can help you better convey your message than if you were using standard text.

Sign in to your Facebook account at Facebook.com.

Click the "Notes" link on the left side of the screen to access Facebook's Notes application.

Create a new note by clicking the "+ Write a Note" button at the top of the screen.

Enter the title of your note into the "Title" field and the body of the note into the "Body" field. You can only format text in the note's body.

Make text bold by surrounding it with these two tags: <b> and </b>. For example, a bold sentence would look like this: <b>This is a bold sentence.</b>

Add italicized (slanted) text by placing text between the <i> and </i> tags, like this: <i>This is an italicized sentence.</i>

Underline your text by typing it in between the <u> and </u> tags. For example: <u>This is an underlined sentence.</u>

Create big text using <big> and </big>, or create small text using <small> and </small>, like this: <big>This sentence has a big font.</big> <small> This sentence has a small font.</small>

Type "—" to create an em dash, which is a long dash. For example: Set apart text in a sentence—like this—with em dashes.

Click the "Publish" button to publish your note when you're finished formatting the text.
